As an Assistant Accountant, you will have responsibility for delivery of project related financial information, ensuring appropriate adherence to Business financials controls and governance processes

This role will provide you with an opportunity to expand your knowledge within the finance sector and progress within the team

Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Accountant will involve:

Financial Support to the Project Teams ensuring sufficient understanding of financial issues to facilitate achievement of financial targets

Responsibility for the production of Summary Status Reports and monthly forecasts of expenditure

Responsible for ensuring sales invoices are raised in a timely manner

Specific financial support to the Senior Project Accountant

Ensuring adherence to business financial controls and governance process

Providing Finance support in the contract closure activity working with Commercial and Project teams

Ensuring Contract financial deliverables are produced and submitted in a timely manner

Ensuring standards of safety are upheld in their work environment

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:


Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA) or AAT fully qualified

Competence in using Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel

Experience of managing a contract and working with stakeholders

Desirable:

Experience in working in a capacity of a business partner

Knowledge of the SAP ERP and TM01 systems

Previous experience of project accounting

Previous experience of the defence industry
