Hours: 8.5 Hours

Salary scale: Spinal Point 7 (£7.83 per hour)

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with strong water rescue skills, communication skills and confidence in dealing with large numbers of the public, to join our team of Recreation Assistants.

The post is offered on a permanent part time basis of 8.5 hours per week. Flexibility in shift pattern will be required when opening times vary and to cover for absent colleagues. In these and other similar circumstances you will maintain your basic hours but your normal work pattern may be varied.

The current work pattern is as follows:

Week 1 (8.5 hrs)

Saturday – 8.30am to 5pm

Week 2 (8.5 hrs)
Saturday – 8.30am to 5pm

 

You will assist with the supervision of the pool(s), sports hall and other activity areas and you will be responsible for delivering a high standard of service and customer care. Duties will include ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the building.

A current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential.

An enthusiastic approach to work and an ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers is essential. You must have a good standard of health and have the ability to work as part of a team. Experience of working in a leisure centre as a lifeguard is desirable.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration of their criminal record history and apply for an Enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure & Barring Service prior to appointment.
