Business Development Director - Local Govt at 2e2 in London (Published at 28-12-2018) 2e2 - Business Development Director Purpose Of Role: The role holder is responsible for the development of sales across the Southern Local & Regional Government territory. He/She will manage activities to identify and create new business revenue growth in the territory, with new named accounts. He/she will work alongside the territory Client Director to develop and a territory plan, which will set out the strategy for growth including target accounts, key propositions/products, contact plan and growth forecast. Key Responsibilities: * To open opportunity to engage early in the sales cycle to influence strategy. * To position 2e2 and create the opportunity to differentiate. * To define, develop and own key target customer relationships and customer contact strategy. * To understand customer business issues and align 2e2 propositions to create new business opportunity. * To build and develop win plans and opportunity development plans. * To create and then lead virtual teams (encompassing bid management, sales specialist, technical, finance, Operations and Delivery) to successfully bid for major contracts within an agreed bid budget. * To develop relationships with key vendors and partners that will assist in territory growth. * To make a significant contribution to company's sales revenues and margin. * To work closely with the Industry Director and Industry Sales Director for the sector to communicate sales activity, targets, pipelines and forecasts. Business Impact: * Medium-term business strategy and objectives typically guide this role, although there may be involvement in the formulation and development of future policy. * Impact is primarily within financial year. * Develops medium term plans across territory and within specific accounts across multiple years. * Develops commercially sound solutions that influence business unit results and improve customer relationships. * Increased awareness of functions outside of own business area. Authority/Decision Making: * Able to engage at senior management and Board level both internally and externally to within well-defined limits of delegation. Qualifications: * Graduate, or relevant job experience. * Formal Sales Training at some point in career preferable Skills/Experience: * Self-sufficient and results driven, excited by the prospect of playing and important role in a growing business. * A number of years? public sector (ideally Local & Regional Government) sales experience, ideally within tier 1 IT Services Company. * Proven track-record of achieving sales targets * Good leadership skills in managing, motivating and coaching. * Very Strong presentation skills. * Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. 2e2 works with a carefully selected pool of preferred suppliers and we are not looking to add to these at present.
