About the Role We have an opportunity for Project Support Officer required for our Productivity and Skills Directorate working with the Construction Skills Project Manager. The role will provide project support and contract for the effective delivery of a range of Construction Skills project awarded to the West Midlands Combined Authority operating across the the West Midlands for Construction training. The programme will link significant growth in housing and infrastructure developments with targeted recruitment and training activity. The programme will specifically provide the training and support needed to enable more unemployed and/or low-waged entrants to develop the skills needed to enter and sustain employment in the construction sector. The Project Support Officer will support engagement across FE Colleges, independent training providers, Local Authorities, Job Centre Plus, National Careers Service. Training will be offered at a number of locations across the West Midlands Combined Authority area to ensure access from all areas of disadvantage and/or high unemployment. Training will also include an orientation visit, a CSCS card and guaranteed employer interview. A team made up of visual designers, a multi-media designer and front end developers. About the role You should be an innovative and dedicated graphic designer ready to join our growing team. The individual in this role would be responsible for taking conceptual design ideas and creating visual representations of them, both electronically and in print. This individual would work with a variety of products, applications, and software platforms, while simultaneously collaborating with a number of teams at our company. You will be responsible for sitting in on conceptual design meetings and offer educated opinions. Advising on best practices and optimizations throughout design projects. Creating visualizations (either by hand or via a software program) which convey accurate messaging and undertones as dictated by the project. Developing creative layouts, logos, website graphics, etc. as needed. Presenting designs to stakeholders and applicable teams. Implementing feedback/changes when appropriate. Suppling final design for development/printing as needed. To succeed in the role … You will be a flexible thinker, who is able to create ideas and always seeking knowledge to improve your own or your creatives' performance. You will a person who can make it happen, exceeding customer expectations. You will be a great Communicator who is an awesome team player but can also self-motivate. You will have excellent creative problem solving and visual flair. Experience working as a graphic designer in a creative studio environment for both commercial and public sector markets is vital. Expert command of standard design and prototyping applications (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite and Axure); experience with video editing and motion graphics is a plus.
