We are looking to recruit a new team to support 21 year old twins (brother and sister) who have autism and severe learning disabilities, in their family home in Taunton
They enjoy a range of activities both within the home and in the community. You will also support them in educational activities and independent life skills. You will need to provide personal care and support high levels of anxiety and challenging behaviour.
We are looking for individuals who are calm, quiet, gentle, proactive, flexible and resilient with experience of working with people with Autism/severe learning disabilities or those with limited communication skills. BSL level 1 would be desirable but training will be provided for the right people.
We are looking for staff committed to working with these young people in the long term, who are team players and used to working with open and hones lines of communication.
These roles are likely to be challenging yet incredibly rewarding and will involve shift work including days, evenings, weekends and nights.
You could be the perfect fit for this package if you have the following:
A caring, kind and empathetic approach
Enthusiasm, commitment and regards to everyone as equal
A passion about making a difference
Good communication skills
Ability and willingness to work flexibly across set shifts which may include some weekends
Some experience in Learning Disability or Mental Health Support work, either paid or through life experiences
Ideally but not essentially, a recognised care certification such as NVQ or QCF
