Overall Job Purpose

The social media and content manager plays a critical role is the wider marketing team within Vitality, sharing our messages in a creative and innovate way.

The role will focus on delivering the social media and content strategy for the business to increase brand awareness, engagement and traffic to the website. Accountabilities

Social media responsibilities:

Has an in-depth knowledge of social media tools and a thorough understanding of how businesses can and should use them
Works in collaboration with the Senior Content manager and the Adviser social team to define and deliver a social media strategy
Develops creative social media campaigns that align and support the wider marketing activity
Manages all brand (consumer facing) social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Glassdoor and YouTube to ensure Vitality has a consistent brand tone of voice.
Maintain brand consistency between organic and paid social media activity
Research and monitor activity of Vitality’s competitors to reach and then stay at #1 in social conversations.
Engage in conversations with followers, trends, brands, and members across all channels in order to maintain an active presence, boost engagement and provide excellent customer experience.
Share insight and relevant information that has been shared or found on social media on Vitality or the industry, with the wider business in a timely way
Work closely with the customer service team on their reactive social media management, considering brand and reputation
Work with the senior executive team to develop their social media presence
Support adviser social media channels as required
Keep abreast of social media trends and product developments, advising the business as these change or offer opportunities

Content responsibilities:

Collaborate with the senior content manager to develop content plans across website, blogs and other channels
Developing creative and innovative campaigns and content for our blogs
Work with experts in the business to write engaging content
Review reports and other published information from the business to ensure data and information that tells the Vitality story is shared within our content channels
Alight content creation with social media content and wider marketing communications
Editing and uploading content using a content management system
Support with writing marketing communications
Creation of content marketing assets
Adhoc management of content logs

General

Delivers high-quality social media and content to stimulate positive brand, product consideration and engagement from relevant audiences and to present Vitality as an authoritative voice in the Health, Fitness, Wellbeing and Investments conversations.
Monitor and analyse the performance of content and social media, writing and contributing to evaluation packs
Implement brand messaging to ensure consistency across all channels
Ensure that all social media marketing and content has considered keywords for optimal reach and link building.
Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business
Attend Vitality events or Vitality sponsored events and create engaging content for all channels

Skills Required

Relevant experience in social media and content
Experienced and knowledgeable on all the main social media channels
Proven ability to develop creative content and campaigns for use across multiple channels
A confident communicator with excellent writing and editing skills
Ability to work with complex information and distil into content
Experienced in writing for multiple and varied audiences
Experience of social media and content evaluation
Understanding of personalisation within marketing
Adobe Photoshop skills
Experience using CMS tools like WordPress
Understanding of SEO and it’s use on content
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and under pressure
