Clinical Services Manager (RGN qualified)

Location:Wiltshire and Somerset

Salary: £ 39,687 per year

As a Clinical Services Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Complex Care to support the clinical services team.

A Clinical Services Manager involves:

Planning and organising own time and that of care staff, providing day to day supervision of care provided.
Monitoring and checking work undertaken to ensure that it is safe, effective, caring and responsive to the needs of the customer
Mentoring and acting as a role model to less experienced staff
Developing and maintaining own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness in accordance of the nursing revalidation guidelines.
Gaining knowledge of pending clinical packages and planning accordingly.
Ensuring effective communication with staff, customers, the general public and others as appropriate.
Participating in clinical supervision and to contribute to annual appraisal.
Assisting in the training and development of care staff and/or student nurses or newly qualified Registered Nurses as required.
Contributing to the completion of audits/monitoring as part of the Company’s Quality Assurance scheme or external requirements.
An awareness of the costs of care, ensuring that resources are utilised efficiently and with best value for money.
Working according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines with customers assessed as needing nursing care and take responsibility for:

Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their clinical care, including participation in customer reviews
Promoting a person centred approach to care, in team working with other members of the staff team and members of the wider multi-disciplinary care team
Delivering training in clinical tasks & providing competency sign off for carers.
Providing regular clinical supervision for carers.
Maintaining accurate, complete and sufficiently detailed records.

What you’ll need:

To be a Registered Nurse with the NMC
Thorough and up to date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice ( experience of working with complex need patients, spinal injuries, PEG feeders etc.)
Understanding of NMC Code of Practice and the requirements of it for own practice and behaviour
Minimum of 1 years experience at Band 6 or equivalent
Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
Excellent IT skills
Line management experience
Proven experience in providing high levels of customer service in a service based setting
Awareness of the principles of good practice and providing a quality service.
Awareness of the role in maintaining Customers independence – promoting self care.
A flexible approach to working hours and practices across a geographical area.
Full UK Driving licence and access to own vehicle
