We have an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Solutions Architect to join the Solutions team at Redcentric, based at our Harrogate office.

The Solutions Architect will work with Redcentric sales to achieve business growth goals and objectives. They'll do this by providing responsive, timely and accurate pre-sales technical resource, to understand customer requirements and design solutions to enable the outcomes sought by the customer.

The Cloud Solutions Architect is also required to understand the customer’s needs and translate these into solutions based on the Redcentric product portfolio.

What are the role requirements?

Duties will include:

Owning all aspects of the project cycle from initial engagement with sales in a presale capacity to design, delivery and hand-over into support,
To work closely with customers to ensure the design and delivery meets the customer’s needs, documentation is accurate, and the solution is suitable for the customer sometimes within tight timescales,
To ensure a coherent and consistent technical strategy is applied, providing technical leadership and architectural governance on all solutions, and developing and following product/solution guidelines
To produce solution proposal documentation for sales incorporating all specialist areas as appropriate i.e. Server, Storage, Software, Networking, Services, etc. either directly or via the tender team,
Work with other specialist network and collaboration solutions architects and SMEs where customers’ requirements extend beyond their knowledge and experience,
Have in-depth technical knowledge in specialist field with a broad understanding of all infrastructure technologies both at a pre-sales and delivery level, developing and maintaining a Subject Matter Expert role in one or more areas,
Commit to continuous learning and an evolving general knowledge of technology and the market, obtaining qualifications where required to support Redcentric’s credibility as a professional and managed services provider
Act as the technical authority, overseeing infrastructure transformation programmes and projects or submitting internal design documentation for managed services,
Where aligned to specific customer accounts, lead the development of technology strategy, roadmaps and future state architectures, being a trusted advisor to the customer and all levels,
Ensure appropriate design documentation is produced as a recognised set of deliverables that are consistent to the solution,
Understand/escalate the technical risks associated with each aspect of the service and/or projects for the account, define roles and responsibilities where appropriate,
Lead cross technology team working to ensure integrated infrastructure architecture,
Assist in the development of customer accounts by keeping up to date and being knowledgeable in all areas of the Redcentric cloud & managed services, with the ability to discuss and convey the associated benefits of the services,
Include good and best practices in solution designs and contribute SME knowledge to the cloud product and portfolio manager
Follow internal processes to ensure each customer receives excellent service with a ‘right first time, every time’ mentality,
Managing all solutions activity prior to any contract. This work will consist of answering the solutions elements of any RFI/RFP/ITT for opportunities

What experience is required?

Due to the position, we require that the successful candidate has had 5 years+ experience within the managed service provider market, either in a pre-sales or solutions architect role. The successful candidate should be familiar with the current UK cloud and infrastructure managed service marketplace and current technologies e.g. Azure, AWS, IaaS, PaaS, DRaaS, VDI and data centre hosting. The successful candidate must have experience working with some of the following vendor propositions and be willing to develop their knowledge where they do not have experience:

Microsoft Azure
Microsoft 365
Citrix
VMware vCloud, Storage, Networking and Management technologies
Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server and server software
Linux and open source technologies

Experience or knowledge of agile or lean methodologies, enterprise storage, networking technologies or security products would also be advantageous.

Ability to learn quickly and to share knowledge including acquiring a detailed understanding of the Redcentric cloud products and services
Polished presentation and white-boarding skills and be confident in front of audiences up to and including CxO level.
Perform the role of primary relationship manager from a technical perspective for selected customers and be responsible for formulating a strategy with that customer
Demonstrate several years’ experience of working within enterprise IT environments
Good understanding of industry and competitive landscapes
Can-do approach with ability to solve problems systematically
Excellent organisational and time management capability
Excellent oral and written skills
Fully conversant with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint)
Ability to take a technical concept and convey it into a workable solution, but also can explain in simple language to nontechnical personnel the detail of such a solution
Demonstrate solid commercial awareness
Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and meet deadlines
