Due to growth within Apprenticeships, the Automotive and Engineering Department at Newcastle College is seeking to appoint an Apprenticeship Manager. The Apprenticeship Manager will lead a small team of Skills Trainers to liaise with both the retail Automotive Industry and local engineering firms to support them with their training requirements.

The role will also provide support to the Head of Curriculum with the management of the section to ensure the section performance is aligned to College Key Performance Indicators, delivering a high standard of learner experience. They will also assist in leading the implementation of industry standard training, expectations and College requirements, including quality, finance and Health and Safety.

The successful candidate should have a good background in an Automotive and/or Engineering discipline and have sound knowledge of apprenticeships.

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
