Do you want to work Nights? Ever thought about being there for people with Learning Disabilities? Being there for others and providing emotional reassurance overnight is more rewarding than you think...

MacIntyre Care is an award-winning national charity supporting people with autism and learning disabilities and we’re now hiring an experienced or non-experienced Waking Nights Support Worker based in our home in Birkenhead on the Wirral. This post will be for 10 hrs per week.

About the role

The people we support are very active during the day and may want to chat about their activities and what they've been up to before they go to bed. What they really need, is someone who is available when they are wakeful at night and to check at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day. You will need to provide support with intimate care or medication.

Your role will also include cleaning duties to ensure the home is tidy for the morning. This is an important role to make sure people feel safe at all times and not vulnerable during the night so this is more about proving an emotional reassurance.

Night work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable.

Who are we?

We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.

We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.

What we need from you

Firstly, you don’t need experience to become a Support Worker but it’s not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 nights are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it’s something you’ll never forget.

As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we’ll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support.
