At our residential children's home in St Albans, we provide 24 x 7 care and support for up to five children and young people, aged 11 to 18. The home provides a residential therapeutic model for young people with autism and/or learning disabilities, and behaviour that challenges, who may also have a mental health condition.
Alongside this, the home offers a full extended curriculum designed to complement and reinforce the learning programme delivered at the young person’s school or college. This is where you come in!
You will plan, organise, monitor and evaluate after school/college, weekend and holiday activities for children and young people at the home, and support individual programmes that promote learning, engagement, interaction and fun.

It’s likely that you’ll have experience in an education setting and you must have experience working with children/ young people who have disabilities.
You will demonstrate a real commitment to education for students with complex needs. You will be an excellent communicator, able to form positive and effective relationships with the residential, therapy and behaviour support teams and with students and their families.
This is a full-time post, 52 weeks a year. Although the role is mostly day-times, you will need to work flexibly, including evenings and some weekends.
You’ll also need to be a driver with your own transport in order to travel for work
