Technology is a cornerstone for Yorkshire Housing’s ambitions to become the most innovative housing organisation in the country. The ICT Security Specialist is a new role in our established ICT team, which will help to shape how we work by ensuring our existing systems and working practices are effective at maintaining security and legal compliance, whilst enabling colleagues to work efficiently and flexibly.

As the primary point of contact, you will ensure our existing systems and new technologies align with our security standards and highlight any risks. Also, you will be ensuring all colleagues are considering security as they go about their day-to-day work.

You will be joining Yorkshire Housing at an exciting time, going through a major transformation programme improving the way we interact with our customers with lots of changes to the technology we use and how we work.

What will I be doing?

As the ICT Security Specialist, you will work with colleagues to identify and understand specific security risks, identify potential risk management options and implement them. The role requires a good level of technical IT knowledge, but you are not expected to provide hands on technical security engineering. Key responsibilities include:

Providing technical security expertise to design and implement security controls
Work closely with ICT colleagues to monitor, identify, assess and improve security measures for systems, networks and data.
Researching best practice and innovative approaches within the housing sector and beyond
Responding to security incidents and coordinating the activities of others where appropriate

Additional Requirements Include:

Excellent understanding of security and compliance in the context of a wide range of business technologies, particularly within the Microsoft stack.
Likely to have a background in IT support or implementation and/or security related qualifications.
Skilled in the use of a range of software applications.
Able to quickly understand and help others to understand the security implications for changes to ways of working.
Exceptional collaboration skills

This is a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) role based at Dysons Chambers, Leeds.
