Southwark College, part of Newcastle College Group, (a leading national provider of education and training), is looking to recruit Learning Support Workers (LSWs) to work with both individual and small groups of learners to support their access to the curriculum and the College. The learners that you will be working with may have mild, moderate or complex learning difficulties or disabilities and will be from a wide range of ages; 16 years to adults. There are currently 4 term time only positions available at the college.

In this extremely rewarding role, you will work under the direction and supervision of managers and teaching staff to provide high quality and appropriately targeted support to learners with a range of support needs including learning difficulties, autism and /or physical disabilities. The support you provide is in turn will facilitate student's their progress in learning, independence, personal care needs , access to learning and integration into the College community. To help you achieve this, you will be working as part of a hardworking, passionate and supportive team that is committed to providing the best support and getting the best out of our learners.

You will be working with a range of learners across the Inclusive Learning department which includes support for both mainstream and discrete provision and will be managed by the ALS Co-ordinator.

We are happy to receive applications for permanent roles from candidates who would prefer to work part-time. This would be for a minimum of 3 days a week, (please indicate in your application if your preference is for a part-time role)

While you will work predominantly within the Supported Learning area led by the LSW Team Leader and managed by the Head of Department, you will also be required to work with a number of learner groups across the Department.
