As Head of Commercial (London) you will be responsible for the successful day to day commercial management of all areas of expenditure within the London region via the property services directorate, where our repairs & planned maintenance services are delivered by external contractors, with two large strategic contracts underpinning the majority of the works undertaken. You will lead and direct the regional commercial team to ensure the services being delivered within the region are commercially sound, challenged, offer value for money, and ensure the group’s financial risks are understood. You’ll ensure that all contractors and suppliers are managed in accordance with contracts, whilst ensuring that performance is measured, contractual penalties or rewards are applied.
You will be an effective part of the commercial team and the regional management team, ensuring that all colleagues receive an open, inclusive and insightful style of management, and they are motivated and deliver effective services to our customers within the region. You will provide strong leadership and direction for staff to encourage a culture of high performance.
We’re looking for someone with a proven a track record of effective commercial management within a customer centric environment, which has delivered excellent customer facing services, using external contractors and operated within tight budgetary constraints. Experience of direct workforce management would be preferential but not essential. You should have a relevant professional qualification or very substantial experience in a senior commercial role, with the ability to apply strategic managerial experience and data analysis to effect positive change. You will have excellent IT, data analytical, negotiation and communication skills on a wide front. You will have highly developed report writing skills, incorporating high degree of literacy & numeracy and computer literacy. You should also possess highly developed problem-solving skills, including the ability to make sound judgement within strict time constraints.
The role requires a full drivers licence and is subject to a basic DBS.
