We're looking for
A customer-focused individual who is proactive, flexible and has a positive attitude to join us as a Floating Support Worker based in St Albans area.
Catalyst is all about homes people love. That means everything from developing and maintaining great properties, to delivering excellent service to our customers, every day. We provide housing for those who can’t afford a home without our help, and offer a wide range of homes for rent, shared ownership or purchase. In doing so, we build more than homes – we build communities.
We’re one of the UK’s leading housing associations, and a member of the G15 group. We're at a particularly exciting point in our story, having recently merged with another large housing association, Aldwyck. The merger makes us stronger and more able to deliver our social purpose - in every part of our organisation.
We’re a Sunday Times top 100 Best Company to Work for. We invest care, time and resources in our people because we know it’s our people who will drive our purpose. If you’d like to be part of what we do, please get in touch.
As a Floating Youth Support Worker, you will play an active role in delivering our support service to vulnerable young people. You’ll be providing advice, guidance and support to young people between the ages of 18 and 24 who could be in crisis or at risk of homelessness, across the Hertfordshire area.
You’ll work closely with hyh, a homeless charity based in Hertfordshire, identifying needs coordinating the right support for young people. You’ll ensure that all young people work towards their support plans whilst offering them realistic advice to prevent homelessness wherever possible. You will maintain accurate records on your customers, and you will complete all administrative tasks required.
You may have some experience of working in a similar role, however if you have a passion or interest for working with vulnerable young people then we’d still love to hear from you. You’ll need good IT skills and the ability to manage a short-term caseload with conflicting deadlines. Developing positive working relationships with young people is critical, however you must keep strong professional boundaries in place. You’ll be working remotely on a daily basis, so you need to be comfortable working without supervision and in tense situations where you’re required to make decisions.
At Catalyst, we are extremely passionate about the services we provide to people and we know we wouldn’t be able to deliver that service, without our people. If you’d like to join us, and help make a real difference, please get in touch.
