This is a one-year fixed term role aimed at 21-30 year olds
7th September 2020 – 30 August 2021 (Date may be later in September depending on COVID-19 developments)
Salary: circa £22K per annum
Hours of work: 35 hours per week (Not necessarily 9 – 5pm)
Location: London - 2.5 days in Parliament with a Conservative MP, 2.5 days with the Joint Public issues Team

This post offers joint placements between an MP and a Church-based policy and campaign team.
It is an opportunity to be working alongside a Conservative member of the House of Commons and their staff as they seek to make a difference through the work of UK politics.
It also offers the chance to develop skills in research, campaigning and communication whilst working as part of the Joint Public Issues Team. The Team (http://www.jointpublicissues.org.uk/) works as part of the Baptist Union, the Methodist Church, the United Reformed Church and the Church of Scotland on issues of justice and peace.
Throughout the year, the post holder will be offered the chance to see first-hand the way Church and society interact whilst applying their own faith to the role.
This a full-time post for a year. The post starts in September 2020 and is based across two locations in central London – Westminster and Marylebone.
There will be opportunities for professional, spiritual and personal learning and development to equip the appointed candidate professionally for a wide range of opportunities after their time on the programme.

WHO CAN APPLY?
You can apply for this role if:
You have completed your full-time university studies (bachelor's degree or equivalent) at a university or equivalent institution prior to commencing the assignment;
You are between 21 -30 years old; and
You can provide a spiritual and character reference from a church or faith community leader within the Christian tradition.
The team is currently missing representation from people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Groups and would particularly welcome these applications.
