About the vacancy:

We’re looking for people who have a good eye for detail whilst carrying out cyclical testing and inspection of our electrical systems and quality control audits to ensure installations meet the required standards. The role will also include inspections of communal areas and reporting any building defects, in-line with our insurance policy.

Being good with people is important, as you’ll be building good relationships with colleagues and our residents. As well as this, you will be working to tight deadlines and will have the chance to manage your own workload and make decisions.

You will need to have undertaken an electrical apprenticeship or relevant electrical professional training, including inspection and testing and 18th edition qualification in addition to having excellent customer service skills and be able to work on your own initiative whilst prioritising tasks.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Specifically the Compliance Electrician will:

Actively support the Compliance Team in the delivery of a highly efficient customer focused technical service within the Company’s policies and procedures.
Comply with legal and regulatory requirements and ensuring best practice as well as meeting agreed service delivery standards.
Undertake statutory cyclical inspection and testing of electrical installation within domestic properties, sheltered schemes, commercial buildings and communal areas. Record test results accurately and complete electrical certificates and relevant documentation as required.
Monitor and quality control electrical work carried out by contractors and the in-house electrical team to ensure compliance with specification standards and regulations
Carry out portable appliance testing (PAT) and fixed appliance testing to electrical equipment owned by NCH.
Undertake electrical repair work including replacing defective lighting circuit’s, switches, controls, communal lighting, emergency lighting, and other associated tasks as required.
Inspect and test emergency and communal lighting and where required carry out remedial electrical repairs.
Carry out electrical condition reports within the housing stock and provide condition information to allow an effective planned maintenance programme.
