A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist to join our forward thinking organisation.
Second Step is a leading mental health charity in the South West offering housing, support and hope to thousands of people with mental health and complex needs. We are motivated by our values of recovery, partnership, trust, diversity and learning; working together to achieve our vision for 2022; Raising Ambitions to help people with mental health problems and complex needs achieve greater independence and live healthier lives and to be the go-to organisation in the South West for mental health and complex needs support.
Our mission is to promote mental health and wellbeing by supporting people and communities to build brighter futures. The people who use our services are at the heart of our organisation, and our involvement groups help inform and improve the services we deliver. We are passionate about creating psychological, adversity and trauma informed environments and system change.
We value relationships and making sense of what has happened to those coming into contact with our services, rather than thinking about what is wrong with them. We advocate for system change that facilitates working with socially contextualised presentations of distress. As a Psychologist who shares similar values, you will become part of an existing group of psychologists and play a key role in the implementation of our new strategy organisation wide.
If you are passionate about improving services for adults who present with multiple and complex needs, this could be the next exciting opportunity for you.
There are three main focuses of this new job profile
1. To provide psychological consultation, supervision and capacity building support to staff across Second Step
2. To provide psychological assessment, enhanced formulation and intervention to a small caseload of clients within our Bristol
based Housing Services
3. To support the implementation of the Psychological, Adversity and Trauma Informed Strategy
If you would like to help deliver Second Steps’ message of hope and courage across the South West we would be pleased to hear from you.
