Handy Person (Sunningdale Lodge)

Salary: £*8.72 -£9.32

Hours: 25 hours per week

As a Handy person, you will be working within our homes to support the Manager in the maintenance of safe and tidy conditions. All of our staff work together as part of a team to provide quality care. Essentially, you put the comfort, happiness and safety of our customers first - and do what you can to support them.

A Handyperson is one of our key roles and involves:

Carrying out regular checks on the homes fire systems, completing the Fire Log Book and reporting any faults
Carrying out regular water flushing throughout the home to ensure water hygiene standards are maintained and any discrepancies are recorded and reported.
Carrying out regular water temperature checks to ensure water does not present a scalding risk to customers
Completing a visual and Portable Appliance Tests (PAT) once appropriately trained
Carrying out regular checks on equipment including: wheelchairs, ladders, electric beds, window restrictors and clean windows as required.
Changing light bulbs and tubes with appropriate replacements and clean light fittings as required.
Completing minor repairs e.g. tap washers, repairs to furniture, unblocking a sink
Undertaking minor decorating tasks within the home including putting up shelves, pictures etc.
Assisting in periodic cleaning duties e.g. high level, cooker hoods, filters, vents or garden furniture
Liaising with contractors when on the premises
Working with the team around you to raise any concerns you have regarding our customers

No experience is necessary as you will be given full training and support right from the outset.
