Qualified Range scale points 23-31 (£25,200 - £31,886)

We are seeking a highly talented and suitably experienced individual, to join our A level and Access and BTEC Chemistry teaching team, who is passionate about teaching to enable high achieving students reach their potential. You will be highly motivated, student focused and have strong interpersonal skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as a Lecturer in Chemistry.

You will be joining an excellent, dedicated and self-motivated team, as well as providing additional knowledge and experience for the future development of a successful department.

Key responsibilities

Deliver exceptional teaching and learning which will assist students to achieve excellent results
Inspire students to appreciate and enjoy Chemistry and instill in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding
Undertake scholarly activities and supervision of student placements as appropriate
Participate in departmental and cross college events
Support all students to achieve their goals
Support the team and head of academy to ensure the continued success and growth of the area

Skills and Qualifications (Ideal, however do not be put off by these, if you have the experience and the drive we can support you)

Teacher qualification/and or teaching experience, or a commitment to work towards
STEM Ambassador or a desire to become a STEM Ambassador / Member of or desire to become a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry
Member of SET (Society for Education and Training)
Relevant degree or relevant industrial experience
GCSE English Language and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or other Level 2 equivalent
Experience of teaching and tutoring on A Level Chemistry and ideally Access and BTEC Science programmes
