The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Lawyer to join our team of committed and passionate professionals in our London office, to run a varied caseload of litigated and non-litigated Employment Rights cases. You will have the opportunity to manage employment advice and/or representation matters, such as, unfair dismissal, wages and discrimination claims. This will provide a platform for you to showcase your exceptional client care and communication skills, sound judgement, confident decision-making and significant legal knowledge and expertise.

Having the confidence and ability to take appropriate daily decisions on cases to ensure swift progression will be key to your success.

The role

As a Senior Lawyer with at least 5 years PQE, you will run a high value Employment Rights caseload which includes complex cases at the highest values, and you will be assessing and advising on the prospects of success and value of Employment Tribunal claims. You will therefore need to have excellent knowledge of Employment Tribunal rules of procedure and the litigation process. The role requires excellent prioritisation skills and meticulous attention to detail to enable you to construct clear and effective arguments, yielding the best result for our clients. You will need to show empathy and understanding, providing a professional legal service with a personal touch.

A key element of the role involves mentoring and supervising other team members and supporting them with cases, so an enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and expertise to grow talent within the wider team is essential. In addition to supporting the team, you will also have excellent networking skills, enabling you to nurture and develop relationships with clients and contributing towards business development.

A day in the life of a Senior Lawyer is never the same, however a typical day may include supervising other case handlers, carrying out relevant investigations, obtaining relevant documents, preparing witness statements; preparing and attending Conferences and Court hearings.

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) we are operating reduced hours therefore this role will initially work 28 hours per week and will increase to 35 hours per week from 01 September 2020.
