Science, Engineering or Technology Graduate - R&D Tax Incentives Career Pathway - East and West Midlands
Finished your degree in Engineering or Physics? How about Computer Science or Biological Sciences? Not sure where to go now? We're offering a once in a lifetime career transition into the world of R&D tax incentives!
How do Engineering, Science or Technology interlink with R&D Tax Incentives?
The UK Government sets aside almost £4bn every year to give to UK companies to help them fund their research and development (R&D). The more R&D a company does, the more of the £4bn they can get access to.
Part of R&D involves walking the floor with clients to understand the science and technology projects they're undertaking. This then helps us identify if they're eligible to receive R&D tax relief. If they are, we then submit the claim and help the business invest in the next wave of innovation!
Who better to understand the technical jargon than someone from within the field?
As a team we prefer to think of ourselves as an R&D Family. We take care of each other. We’re building something special that will endure. A high-performance unit comprised of people from a wide range of backgrounds including marine engineering, physicists, chemists and even an astrophysicist. The same goes for our clients. We work with companies across all sectors including high-tech engineering firms, software start-ups, telecoms, food science, packaging companies, printing companies and so on.
It's a chance to use your degree and/or experience in a way you could have never anticipated.
What you'll be up to:
On a day-to-day basis you'll do a variety of different things but a big focus of the job is going out and meeting all sorts of companies, talking with their technical/scientific staff to understand more about their R&D and pulling together their R&D incentives claim. You get a ringside view of some of the most innovative developments happening in the UK. You’ll also develop your understanding of how R&D incentives claims interact with a companies’ corporation tax affairs.
You'll also help prepare reports to go to the Government explaining how and why the company qualifies to get some of that £4bn. Once approved the company will receive the cash which can then be put back into doing even more clever things!
If you join our R&D Family, from day one you’ll visit clients and learn on the job as well as follow our structured training programme, all designed to develop our people into rounded R&D incentives advisors. This includes the opportunity to study for a tax qualification.
It's an extremely rewarding career and you’ll join a family which has your back from day one.
