The role

We have a great opportunity for an Income Officer to join our team and make their mark. Based within our Income Team, you will support the delivery of the income management service and policies, which aim to maximise the amount of rent collected from, and minimise the financial hardship suffered by our customers.

Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:

To own the current income collection and arrears process within a defined geographical patch, as defined by policy and process to ensure appropriate recovery action is taken to reduce the level and incidence of arrears in line with annual targets
To take legal action as appropriate and in line with policy to recover housing debt, including the service of notices, the completion of legal paperwork and the presentation of cases in court
To establish and maintain strong, effective relationships with emh homes colleagues and external partners, such as local authorities, the DWP and advice agencies

What are we looking for?

Customer service is key in this role and we'd love to hear from you if you are target driven, have a strong track record in delivering a high-quality service and have first rate communication skills. You need to be able to adapt well and be confident in dealing with difficult situations. You will present cases to court so need excellent written communication skills and you should be comfortable with report writing. In terms of experience a housing background is preferable but not essential along with GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent and proficiency in MS Office packages.
