Our Trade Planning team are looking for a Category Planning Manager to join them based at our Worksop Support Centre.

As our Category Planning Manager you'll be accountable for creating promotions and event plans through briefs and reviews outlined within the customer/trade plan. You'll project manage each piece of activity, working collaboratively across a wide stakeholder base, ensuring that plans are right for our customer and commercially focussed.

Here are just some of the things you’ll be involved in

Coordinate and develop plans working collaboratively across a wide stakeholder base (CMT’s) to an agreed critical path, ensuring that the plan remains true to the briefed ambition, is joined up across all channels, customer relevant and delivers improved promotional performance YoY.
Create & coordinate event briefs for your category, including Marketing and Digital channels, that are seasonally relevant in line Customer/Trade plan including calendar events and tactical activity. Briefs will have clear objectives and KPI’s that delivery against our commercial objectives and drive supplier revenue.
Commercial asses all nominations for your Promotions and Events to ensure that they will deliver against our objectives.
Create and coordinate the lessons learnt for each Promotion and Events working collaboratively across a wide stakeholder base, which include promotion effectiveness and performance to feed into future plans.
Lead and coach the Category planning assistant managers to ensure they hit their targets and develop their capability to reach their potential.

What we need from you

We need someone who has at least three years experience in a retail buying or planning function. We need this along with:

Great negotiation and influencing skills and not afraid to challenge when required.

Strong cross functional project management skills with the drive to make change happen.

Take a collaborative approach.

Strong comercial awareness.

Has the ability to operate in virtual teams enabling action to happen.
