About the Sixth Form
Newcastle Sixth Form College is an aspirational and inclusive community dedicated to helping young people fulfil their potential. Student progress is in the top 25% nationally and students at the college are 11% more likely to progress to university based on their GCSE results than at other providers.

Key responsibilities
You will coordinate the UCAS application process to help students understand the benefits of university and ensure that those who wish to progress to university fulfil their ambition. You will have particular responsibility for coordinating progression support for Honours Programme students including those applying for early entry universities and courses. You will coordinate progression support for students from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to ensure they make effective progress towards an aspirational progression plan, which for most will be university.

This is a 37 hour per week term time only post allowing you to pursue other interests in the summer.

Who we are looking for
You will be an inspirational and hardworking graduate who strongly believes in the benefits of university. You will have high academic standards for yourself and for the students you work with. You will have some experience of supporting students through the UCAS process and effectively using 1:1s to do this. You will also be highly reflective about your areas for development and will work tirelessly to improve your own skills and expertise. You will undertake an intensive handover process with the existing UCAS coordinator to ensure that you fully understand the UCAS process at NSFC and are able to coordinate and develop it further. You will be dedicated to improving the life chances of the young people that we work with, including those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. You will be a confident professional who is able to organise events and network effectively with representatives from a range of universities, charities and other educational providers.
