Community & Volunteer Engagement Officer This year Ulverston MIND celebrates 30 years of providing mental health services in South Cumbria and, as part of our review to grow activity in the community, we are delighted to recruit to a new position - Community and Volunteer Engagement Officer. Job Description Role:  Community and Volunteer Engagement Officer Salary Details:  £19,430 (NJC Scale 20) pro-rata 16 hours a week Closing Date:  Monday 16th April 2018 Interview Date:  Friday 27th April 2018 to be held in Ulverston, South Cumbria The postholder will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting, training, leading, suppporting and developing a highly skilled and motivated volunteer workforce that is representative of and relevant to the charity's work across Ulverston MIND teams and projects. They will work collaboratively with project leads including Connecting Mums and Peer Support drop-in groups to initiate new projects and activities and identify and fill resource gaps through skilled volunteers. Working with the wider staff team will include participation in Ulverston MIND activities and projects that help nuture and develop community volunteers and meet project performance targets.  Mind in Furness is an independent local mental health charity affiliated to the national charity Mind and providing services including wellbeing services from the William Bingley Centre on School Street, Safe Space Millom, supported accommodation and two charity shops in Dalton Rd, Barrow and Market Square, Millom.  We currently have a vacancy within our supported housing section. Connect Worker (Housing &Tenancy Support) (21 hours – salary £18500 pa £11100 pro rata)  We are looking to recruit a Connect Worker (Housing &Tenancy Support.) The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a small team when required to support 4 individuals with mental health problems in independent accommodation. The post holder will support the individuals in all aspects of housing management and tenancy sustainment.  We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a passion for supporting vulnerable adults, you must be a team player and have excellent communication skills.  Previous experience and an understanding and empathy of the needs of people experiencing mental illness would be an advantage.  Applications can be requested from jacqui.clark@mindinfurness.org.uk or by calling 01229 870481.
