Shift Controller. Parcels Birmingham Airport. Competitive Salary The company Based at West Midlands Freeport and established over 30 years, a niche express carrier, specialising in Technical Solutions and offering a bespoke service of sameday, uk overnight, timed and international deliveries to clients such as public sector, computer refurbishment and reselling companies and providing high security, full tracking and individual parcel and pallet surveillance. The role Working from 6.00pm to 3.00am, Monday to Friday, the Shift Controller will monitor the progress of all current assignments, 120/140 deliveries a night, maintaining contact with drivers, liaising with clients and managing the security of high value, secure deliveries Key responsibilities * Liaise with route planners and drivers (small v, Sprinters, 7.5 tonne and 17 tonne) * Take security photographs of high value consignments Monitor each consignment from despatch to successful delivery * Liaise with clients and keep them informed as necessary The successful candidate * Good communicator * Able to think on your feet * IT skills, computer literate * CPC is desirable but not essential * Remain calm under pressure * Familiar with Google Earth * Have time management skills * Be analytical * Be methodical and organised * Be able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated * Experience of transport planning an advantage Salary An excellent negotiable salary is in offer Please do not apply if you do not have experience of courier/parcel operations Your application will not be considered An excellent opportunity to join a specialist unique courier operation Please note that we endeavour to reply to all applications received but this is not always possible owing to the large number of applications we receive.
