The Information and Advisory Service offers members expert business information & advice in support of their day-to-day work. The team responds to over 17,000 enquiries a year, providing a crucial membership benefit which enjoys a high profile among both IoD members and staff, and aids member recruitment and retention.
We now have an opportunity for a motivated & professional Business Information Officer to join our team of expert researchers in the Business Information Service based in Pall Mall, London.
Your main focus within this role will be to help our members with their research enquiries in an efficient and supportive manner, whether in person, on the phone, or by email. Our membership is diverse and spans all sectors of business so you will work on a variety of enquiries and requests from every stage in the business life-cycle. You will also be a key part of our Content team, helping to develop and maintain our range of informative online factsheets at the direction of the Content Team Leader.
The successful candidate will be a qualified and/or highly experienced information professional with strong research and customer service skills combined with solid knowledge of business information sources.
You will be committed to providing an excellent and efficient customer-focused service and will be confident speaking to people of all business levels (previous experience of working with senior managers or directors would be an advantage). You must have excellent time management skills and be able to work to deadlines as well as multi-task. You should have a professional telephone manner and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
You should have experience of developing and maintaining online content, together with strong IT skills (previous experience of using HTML in a CMS would be an advantage, as would experience of CRM systems).
