About the role:

The GDC’s use of information is central to the quality of the service we give to people, the protection we provide patients, and our ability to influence stakeholders and public policy.

This role will support the Information Governance Manager to develop the GDC’s data storage and retention framework and to ensure records are stored in a structured, efficient and user-friendly system, with the GDC being able to rely on information which is retrievable, authentic, accurate and only held for as long as it is needed.

You will work to ensure that the GDC is compliant with all legal requirements in respect of paper and electronic records management, including GDPR. You will advise internal stakeholders and help them understand what records to hold, how they should be stored and when they should be destroyed.

You will play a critical role in a number of GDPR projects.

About you:

We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of Records Management (qualification or qualified by experience), a good understanding of the legal framework around information management and familiarity with information systems and archives. You will have strong communication skills and analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and develop solutions. You will have a broad understanding of ICT and be able to adapt to new systems, while understanding computer and confidentiality related legislation.
