About the role:

The GDC’s use of information is central to the quality of the service we give to people, the protection we provide patients, and our ability to influence stakeholders and public policy.

This role will support the Information Governance Manager to ensure that the GDC becomes more structured, strategic, and consolidated in its approach to Information Governance, embedding best practise and ensuring compliance with statutory information governance responsibilities, including the General Data Protection Regulation.

You will advise on responses to complex information requests, which will include overseeing responses drafted by our Information Officers, and review Data Security Incidents. You will work with the Information Team to develop training and ensure the business adheres to processes and policies.

About you:

We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of European data protection issues and their application in an operational environment. This is a new role which will take over line management for two Information Officers and will be a key point of contact for internal stakeholder enquires, therefore strong management skills are required. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to identify problems and develop solutions, preventing any adverse issues for the GDC..
