Grand Union Housing Group is an innovative leading provider and developer of affordable housing and related services in Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, managing over 11,000 properties.
We are currently seeking a Technical Support Officer to join our team based at either our Ampthill or Towcester Offices. The main purpose of this role is to provide Technical Support to the Property Team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining system workflows (including generic email boxes) that may include payment claims, invoices, variation requests and contractor queries; providing technical support to customer services and planners to ensure accurate diagnosis of works to deliver “right first time” targets and liaising with tenants, advising on subjects such as tenants applications to carry out minor alterations, tenant improvements and rechargeable repairs. You’ll also analyse variations between jobs raised and jobs completed, liaise with authorities (police, local councils, gas providers etc) as required and manage and plan surveyors activities and appointments.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and will ideally hold a trade qualification or similar. You’ll have experience of preparing reports and monitoring programmes / budgets as well as experience of working with suppliers or contractors and you’ll ideally have knowledge of building regulations, codes of practice, British standards etc. Highly organised, you’ll be able to plan and prioritise a busy workload and you’ll be capable of analysing and querying data.
