Our Kitchen teams deliver the highest standards of food to older people across 7 extra care schemes and 2 nursing homes. We recognise the massive role food plays in the lives of people and strive to ensure that every mealtime is a positive and fulfilling experience.
We are looking to recruit a Relief Chef to help prepare delicious and nutritious meals for our tenants and residents. You will be responsible for preparing and serving meals along with supporting the team to set up the dining room and with all aspects of meal preparations and the daily close down of the kitchen.
In the absence of the Chef Manager, you will also be leading the team to ensure consistently high standard of service and undertaking general kitchen management.
Duties will include:
Supporting the Chef in liaising with staff to produce nutritious, high quality, well presented meals on a daily basis. Deputising for the Chef Manager in their absence, overseeing the work of the catering team and general kitchen management:
To set by personal example, excellent food standards.
Work to Health and Safety and environmental health standards.
You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and tenants. You will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. You must also be passionate about food and customer service and ideally have experience of working in a similar role.
