About the role:
We are looking for a Customer Account Executive (aka Subscription Retention Executive) to work collaboratively within our Journals Operations team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This position will provide you with a strong grounding in the principles and practice of customer services, sales and marketing within an academic publishing environment.
In this role you will be contacting customers worldwide via telephone and email to discuss renewing their Journals subscriptions, with a view to maximising subscription retention and uptake across our Journals portfolio. For this you will need a very proactive, customer-centric approach.
You will also be collecting, collating, and maintaining high volumes of customer data on our systems. You will be responsible for analysing and reporting customer data and feedback, to contribute to our understanding of our customers and markets and to help improve our subscription renewals process.
You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner, and will ideally have experience in a customer support or telesales environment. You will have a commercial mind-set, be collaborative, and be comfortable with customer-facing and sales-focused responsibilities. Confidence with technology, working knowledge of MS Excel, and good reporting skills are essential. You will ideally be educated to degree level or above, and European language skills would be advantageous.
