We are now recruiting for a Programme Manager to be key in the successfully delivery of the IT programme, an exciting opportunity to deliver transformational change to our business.

You will build, develop and motivate high performing distributed project teams, committed to achieving the success of your portfolio to time, quality and cost metrics, and play a key role in the overall success of the programme. You will be responsible for the Line Management of a variety of Project Resources.

You will plan, coordinate and monitor your projects and be self-directed, proactive, and innovative in the management of your own workload and the identification of risk. You will manage the inter-dependencies of projects and enable projects to achieve successful outcomes in the most efficient manner.

You will build relationships with your stakeholders and be responsible for the communication of your projects to those stakeholders. You will work closely with the PMO to track, document and report the progress of the portfolio. You will manage your stakeholders and need strong communication skills.

The role is based in Kingston upon Thames and will involve occasional travel to Preston and possibly other locations.

Job Accountabilities

Build, develop and motivate high performing project teams committed to achieving success by delivering the benefits from the programme
Line Manage a variety of Project Resources
Project manage IT programme and projects to meet objectives to time, quality and cost
Look for opportunities to implement synergy, effectiveness, and continual improvement of the processes
Responsible for effective communication within and across projects and programmes to all stakeholders
Ensuring adherence to programme standards or introduce standards where applicable
To work with the relevant teams as a part of the programme and manage key negotiations with both internal and external vendors
Manage the inter-project dependencies forming the project/programme so that the objectives of the project/programme are achieved in the most effective and efficient manner
Ensure that the correct level of documentation and planning exists across the programme
Conduct Programme Reviews and provide accurate, informative and timely status reports
Responsible for quality management of project products and ensuring these are done in a consistent way across all projects
Build and maintain RAID logs for the programme (Risk, assumptions, Issues and Dependencies) prioritising and building mitigation plan to minimise impact
Construct, maintain and report on Budgets across the programme

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Accredited PRINCE2 Practitioner – (or equivalent e.g., APMP qualification) and be able to demonstrate the application of the methodology in previous projects/programmes.
Delivery & results focused with the ability to prioritise effectively and delegate
Capable of operating to tight schedules in a demanding environment
Proven team leadership, coaching and mentoring skills in a programme & project environment
Presence and impact with the ability to lead integrated project teams
Strong analytical skills
Able to manage geographically dispersed project teams, with flexibility regarding travel
Team player with strong leadership skills – a collaborative style
Confident self-starter, capable of innovation and lateral thinking
Graduate or equivalently qualified by experience is desirable but not essential. The candidate must have a solid understanding of a software project management role ideally with some travel industry experience.
