About the role

Aster is looking for a Stock Appraisal Officer to support the Property Investment Manager and Assistant Director in undertaking options appraisals and strategic reviews across the Property Investment portfolio.

The Stock Appraisal Officer will assist the Property Investment Manager in the delivery of key portfolio areas as well as providing a range of support services within the Group in order to achieve key operational objectives.

Based in Andover or Wareham with the support of a coordinator and administrator, you will project lead on the options appraisal and strategic review programme by reviewing and presenting investment outcomes and recommendations to the Investment Board.

We’re looking for a proactive and strategically minded person, who is well organised and commercially astute. You will be confident in reviewing financial and technical data, and communicating outcomes to a variety of stakeholders in a bid to secure support for various investment options.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

Managing the Stock Appraisal Coordinator and Technical Administrator in ensuring key operational objectives and targets are met.
Project-lead the options appraisal programme; reviewing poorly performing assets and reporting investment recommendations
Manage the disposal process of the options appraisal programme to maximise the highest achievable market price within the agreed target timescales for disposals.
Assist with the management of risks and opportunities relating to disposals of poorly performing assets.
Provide support on due diligence and viability for strategic reviews of properties and schemes.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has:

Proven experience within a technical/commercial environment in housing or property.
Confidence in maximising the value of assets through strong negotiating skills.
Diligent financial modelling, analysis and research skills.
Confidence in translating technical asset/property based data; managing technical risks and decisions, and seeking specialist expertise as necessary.
Excellent written and communication skills; including the preparation and presenting reports.
Strong IT skills.
An understanding of the economics and investment needs of assets
Demonstrating commercial awareness and strategic skills when evaluating investment options

Leadership/Management experience is desirable, however leadership development and training will be provided to the successful candidate.
