You will be leading one of the engineering teams within the HCM Division of the IRIS Software Group in the analysis, definition, design, construction and testing of a market-leading HR and Payroll application with well over 100,000 active users.
Your team will be cross-functional, including developers, QA analysts and automated testers, with a dedicated Product Owner, and using Scrum methodology.
This role calls for a mix of technical knowledge, organisational ability and leadership. Work will be a mix of customer requirements, legislation changes, and architectural improvements aimed at evolving from a cloud-integrated application to a cloud-native solution.
Make technical decisions, lead and arbitrate discussions between your developers, and work with Architects and Senior Developers to propose and implement customer and architectural solutions.
Keep track of team capacity, sprint deliverables, and KPIs, proactively reporting on progress and risks to Product and Management
Manage holiday requests, recruitment and quarterly appraisals for your team
Inspire the team, act as a mentor to developers, and work with you peers and management to deliver a world-class product
Work with Product to understand business and legislative requirements, help design technical solutions, and plan available capacity
Implement and improve processes where necessary, looking to achieve the optimum balance between process and productivity
Manage and maintain coding standards across the team, participating in code reviews where necessary
Work closely with operations to maintain and improve our continuous integration and delivery systems
Business Analysts/Product Management
Relevant experience; computing degree and/or industry certifications beneficial
Strong team leadership experience in a Scrum/agile environment
Expert in all things .NET (Core a definite advantage)
ASP.NET MVC and WebForms
Strong experience of building scalable commercial web-based solutions for a large user and customer base
Highly competent in T-SQL
Using ALM tools to track work, e.g. JIRA, TFS, VSTS
Building RESTful APIs using .NET
Working with service-based architectures (micro or otherwise)
Build tools (e.g. TeamCity, VSTS, Jenkins, PowerShell)
Single Page Applications using Angular and TypeScript
Working with cloud providers (AWS or Azure)
Knowledge of HR and/or payroll business domains
