We have an exciting opportunity for a responsive, flexible and dynamic individual to lead on dementia strategy for our care home and to provide a dignified and fulfilling life for our residents living with Dementia. Working closely with the Home Manager, Clinical Lead and Colten Care's Admiral Nurse, you will collaborate to deliver an outstanding service for the residents and a rewarding environment for staff. The Dementia Lead is responsible for consistently providing the highest standard of dedicated dementia care and will be a role model for staff, demonstrating best practice in dementia care at all times and keeping up to date with current thinking in this field of expertise.
Other key responsibilities include keeping accurate records and care planning, supporting the clinical care of our residents and providing guidance, training, appraisals and mentor-ship to the care team and nurses. You will understand your responsibilities under the legislative requirements of the sector and in the absence of the Home Manager assume a shared responsibility with the Clinical Lead for the day to day running of the home.
The contract is offered as full-time, 40 hours per week with variable shifts including some weekends, occasional night visits and taking a share of the 'on-call' phone for emergencies.

The Dementia Lead position would suit a qualified Senior Nurse (RGN / RMN) with significant dementia and elderly mental heath care experience, looking to take the next step into a higher level leadership role.
You'll be a highly organised, multi tasking, self starter and an effective leader & communicator, who is honest, kind and reassuring. You'll embrace and lead change management positively and be able to demonstrate your dementia knowledge and credentials through continuous professional development, education and work history.
