Are you looking for part time or night time work? Could you do both whilst supporting people with learning disabilities?

MacIntyre is a award-winning national charity supporting people with learning disabilities. Our core belief is that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.

We have a part time vacancy for a Waking Nights Support Worker in our Registered Care home in Ludlow, Shropshire, where we support six adults with a range of learning disabilities. This position is for 19 hours per week.

About the role

You will play a key part in assisting the people we support when they are wakeful at night; checking at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day.

Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication.

Night work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service (Frontline Manger) and Senior Support Workers.

This position is for 19 hours per week and has a 6 weekly shift pattern.

What we need from you

Experience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive approach and are willing to learn.

It is essential for these positions that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be required to drive the service mobility vehicle.

Pay and Rewards

MacIntyre offers a full induction and ongoing training, including the opportunity to gain nationally accredited vocational qualifications. We also offer a range of benefits which include:

Generous annual leave allowance of 33 days including statutory public holidays, rising with service to a maximum of 38 days after five years.
Free training
Workplace pension scheme
Employee Assistance scheme to support your health and wellbeing
MacIntyre Staff Savings Scheme

This position is subject to a 6 month probation period following the completion of recruitment checks.

Part time positions are pro rata.
