How do your friends describe you? Do they say you’re someone who is warm, willing to learn, and resilient?
Then you probably have the qualities our children need.
You'll be working with children who have autism and severe learning disabilities. Based at our children's home in the pretty village of Wingrave, between Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard, you’ll support children and young people aged 11 to 19.
Working in one of our residential houses, you’ll be part of a close-knit team supporting young people with their daily lives and encouraging their participation in community activities and hobbies.
You may have been a care worker before, but if not don’t worry, you don’t need experience – so long as you have the right approach, we can teach you the rest.
Full-time (37.5 hours per week), and part-time work available (minimum 22.5 hours per week) with shifts of 7.5 hours.
Who are we? MacIntyre is an award-winning national charity supporting people with learning disabilities.
Some things you need to know
You’ll be supporting young people who have complex needs and may show challenging behaviour. Our specialist teams will support you to learn ways of helping them manage this behaviour.
You must be willing to provide personal care where needed.
You’ll take your turn working shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Ideally you will have a full driving licence as you may be asked to drive school vehicles and obviously you will need to get to and from work - the school is in a rural location.
