A new opportunity has arisen to join our team in the post of Emergency Planning & Security Advisor. This post will report to the Business Resilience & Facilities Management (FM) Manager and will act as a point of reference for expert advice on emergency planning, security and business continuity.

The scope of the role will include but not limited to:-




Providing expert advice to all areas of the business with regards to security.
Carrying out site security audits.
Managing all aspects of the emergency planning processes, including documented information and training and exercising.
Taking a lead role in the preparation and development of business continuity plans to ensure the Company can maintain business critical activities.
Ensuring that implemented solutions and processes satisfy the regulatory obligations in conforming to the requirements of the Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) and the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA).
Developing strategies that promote a security conscious culture.
Representing the Company at Local Resilience Forums and other partner agency working groups where required.
Deputising for the Business Resilience & FM Manager with delegated responsibilities where required at local and national groups.




Elements of the role are technical in nature, and require a high level of independent decision making, and the diverse nature of the role will require an adaptable and flexible approach.



Previous experience and knowledge to include:




A qualification in Emergency Planning/Security related discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience of prioritising and working under pressure in emergency situations.
Knowledge/Appreciation of the relevant law, guidelines, policies and procedures for the post.
Ability to respond to emergencies working outside of office hours including weekends.
Full drivers licence to undertake duties.
Evidence of highly developed planning skills
Proven track record of building strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
Evidence of very strong interpersonal & written communication skills
Experience of tactical or strategic coordination would be desirable




The successful applicant will be required to undertake security clearance as part of the job offer process.
