We are seeking and experienced Quality Manager to join our Aerospace Service Centre to provide a Quality Management service for Liberty Speciality Steels at a senior level primarily within the aerospace market sector. We are a proven supplier with an outstanding reputation for supplying high-integrity alloys and stainless steel to major commercial and military programmes around the world.
We offer a fully integrated mill-backed supply chain, from stocking material, through to sawing and packaging, which supports your specific product and service requirements.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
Responsibility and ownership of the Quality department. To perform the duties of Technical Account Holder for an identified number of primarily aerospace customers. Develop and manage supporting staff. To liaise with commercial, planning and production departments in order to keep them fully aware and updated of customer technical requirements and practices. Take responsibility and act as for first, second and third party quality audits. To prevent the despatch and receipt of material, this does not conform to our or customer requirements. To develop and maintain technical approvals with customers and OEMs where applicable. To maintain detailed technical knowledge of all aspects of the identified customer’s requirements. To administer and settle customer concerns with agreed financial limits. To represent Liberty Speciality Steels on various technical or standards committees. To represent the business unit at Aerospace Business Strategy meetings, and to implement actions to meet any developments identified. To act as a management representative for ASC Bolton and Liberty Speciality Steel when maintaining regular contact with customers and the supply chains to resolve technical, development, liaison and system issues.
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively on technical, production and quality issues both verbally and in writing with internal personnel and customers at all levels. A graduate standard in Metallurgy (or equivalent) plus 5 years’ experience of industrial production of steels and process routes. A full driving licence is required.
