About The School

Abbey Hey Academy became part of United Learning in 2013. We are a larger than average sized primary school with approximately 660 pupils on roll from Nursery to Year 6. 35% of our pupils have English as an additional language, 57% are eligible for Pupil Premium funding and 18% of children have an identified additional need. Each and every one of our children deserves the best.

Abbey Hey are committed to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum; children undertake lots of educational visits and take part in a wide range of activities from sailing, horse riding, golf, cookery and gardening.

Situated in a heart of Gorton, a suburb of East Manchester, the school serves a vibrant and diverse community of learners. Abbey Hey is incredibly popular with local families and has very few places available along with long waiting lists for some year groups. In 2015, the school secured a ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement, details of which can be found on the school website.
