Due to growth within the team, a vacancy has arisen for a Development Chef based at our Linton site. Reporting to the Divisional Development Chef you will play a lead role in delivering high quality products for the agreed projects, drive a food excellence culture and at all times ensure the business is aware of current food trends and create innovative solutions to ensure products are developed for Waitrose to keep them ahead of these trends.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting NPD from concept to launch to ensure the products they create are delivered seamlessly onto supermarket shelves and ensuring all key elements of NPD are consistently delivered. With regular direct contact with the retailer you will ensure that DHF is seen as a food driven business that strives for excellence in food quality.

Acting as an inspiring ambassador for the business you will ensure all ideas and products are transparently, accurately and persuasively presented whilst also demonstrating a clear understanding of the wants and needs of internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will ideally have a degree or equivalent in a related field, plus relevant chef experience as well as an understanding of the commercial and operational requirements of a FMCG business and high quality retailer alike. Strong communication skills are vital as effective interaction will be required with all areas of the business including production teams, commercial and NPD teams as well as of course the customer.
