To help deliver on these across all of our business areas, we have a new opportunity for a Marketing Director to be ultimately responsible for developing and delivering clear corporate and divisional marketing and communication strategies to increase market share and drive brand awareness in each market segment.
This is a pivotal role with a wide ranging remit. You’ll be an integral member of the Senior Management Team making a key strategic contribution at a high level to steer the divisional marketing strategies across all four markets; you’ll use your experience of brand ownership and development to take the Zen brand to a whole new level in terms of the way the it joins up and is communicated; you’ll also own our digital strategy, our website and associated portals ensuring we have a network of contributors from across the business to complement the content driven directly from Marketing.
Collaboration is key to your success. You’ll work closely with Divisional Managing Directors and their associated management teams to ensure we have individual, focused marketing plans which promote a clear and consistent brand and tailored messages which engage our varied customer groups. You’ll use your experience of analysing and understanding ever-changing customer and competitor landscapes to drive decisions and influence strategies and tactical activities
You’ll provide leadership, mentoring, support, and development to a small, but well established marketing team consisting of Divisional Marketing Managers, Marketing Executives and a Digital Marketing Team., through whom our marketing messages and campaigns will be designed and delivered.
You will also act as the public spokesperson for Zen Internet externally and will engaging confidently with customers, partners and the press.
Understand the overall strategy of the business, and the divisional strategies, so informed decisions when prioritising contended work within the Marketing team can be made
Manage Zen’s brand, market and product positioning across each market segment
Manage customer and prospect data and use this to drive decisions and influence tactical activity
Lead and manage the above in a cost effective manner including regular reporting on the effectiveness, impact and return on investment to the Senior Management Team and the wider business
Lead the development and implementation of Zen’s digital marketing strategy and website(s)
Provide strategic input into the company’s business plans
Day to day management and support of the marketing team
Skills & Experience
Experience as a senior function head in a service-focused technology business which is driven by quality and customer service
Experience operating in a divisional business with diverse customer base
Previous experience leading and developing a marketing function (particularly through periods of change and growth)
Have an active interest in the technology with an aptitude and an enthusiasm to get up to speed on the technical details and be able translate them into customer benefits and messaging
Ideally has experience in B2C, B2B (both SME and Corporate), and Channel.
Engaging leader who gains buy-in and respect from team & peers and is able to influence at senior level
Considerable people management skills and experience, including a track record of building, developing and transforming teams
Ability to work autonomously, delegate, prioritise and manage a considerable workload
Sound financial and budgetary management and solid commercial acumen
Strong analytical, project management and problem solving skills, with high attention to detail
Ability to think strategically and creatively to exploit and identify business opportunities
The ability to adapt to a changing business and market place
