We are currently recruiting for Control Engineer to join our head office in Woolpit. Reporting to the Control Manager, you will be overseeing the safe energisation of new and existing electricity networks.



Further responsibilities will include –




Confirm all documentation required for operational work is completed correctly
Undertake Technical and Safety Audits.
Instruction of contractors and direct staff with the installing and/or repairing of Electricity networks and associated equipment.
Site liaison with Developers regarding installations and cable faults.
Liaison with representatives of other DNO’s undertaking connection works.
Liaison with representatives of other DNO’s undertaking fault works.
Manage all electrical connections work requiring operational control of the network.
Instruct field staff where needed
Issue of all Safety Documentation to site based staff.
Act as officer in charge during an Electric Supply Emergency




The Control Engineer will also have a responsibility for Health and Safety matters relating to the Operational, Planning and recording of Electrical Networks and have a working knowledge of at least two the disciplines, and be able to develop skills in the remaining.



The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, and undertake standby duties if needed. You will ideally have membership with a recognised engineering institution at Engineering Technician grade (or equivalent) and maintain a competence portfolio of own skills, training and experience or working towards registration. It is desirable that you would have undertaken an LV Operations Switching Course and should preferably currently hold the relevant SHEA card and CSCS registration.
