Teachers in Literacy for Life
£22, 917 - £38,633, depending on experience
Dudley Academies Trust is looking to appoint outstanding Teachers in Literacy for Life to join Holly Hall School.
Literacy for life aims to develop both students' soft and hard skills, with a particular focus on raising levels of achievement in both Numeracy and Literacy. Literacy for Life is an integrated, thematic, competency based curriculum created for our Year 7 and 8 students. The L4L curriculum is delivered through the principles of project based learning by a dedicated team. Our L4L curriculum focuses on creating an actively engaging learning experience, rich in the use of new technologies, and one which is personalised and responsive to the needs of our students.
Dudley Academies Trust was formed in September 2017 uniting Castle High School, Hillcrest School and Community College, Holly Hall Academy and High Arcal School under the sponsorship of Dudley College of Technology. The Trust, when combined with the sponsor, annually supports 8,500 young people aged 11 to 19 years old and employs almost 1,100 staff.
You will be joining the Trust at an exciting time as we are at the beginning of our journey to provide a first-class education for the young people of Dudley, with outstanding teaching and learning being the Trust’s foremost priority.
The Trust recognises that our staff are our most valuable asset and investing in our people is a key strategic priority for the Trust. A common and extensive programme of staff development operates across the Trust, this is extended to senior and middle leaders, aspiring leaders, teaching and support staff and non-qualified teachers.
We would welcome applications from teachers who wish to develop their experience across a range of subjects and in particular have experience of teaching English and Mathematics. Experience of teaching at Key Stage 2 or across a range of subjects would also be an advantage. Literacy for Life Teachers teach 17 hours of L4L per week to a single group of students which incorporates English, Mathematics and the humanities allowing for effective relationships to be fostered between staff and pupils and aid the transition from primary school. Students come out of Literacy for Life for practical subjects in the arts, PE, technology and practical science.
Applications from NQTs would be welcome, as would applications from more experienced Teachers who want to join us on our journey.
