Close Brothers Asset Management is seeking an experienced business developer to help further build the flow of assets under management in to its award winning High Net Worth investment team.



The individual should have the relevant investment qualifications and be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of investment management as well as have a proven track record of success from within the intermediated investment market place.



Equally as important, we seek a well networked professional individual who is energetic, collaborative and with initiative.



The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of the central business development investment management assets under management target attributed to the central business development team by:




Showcasing to the external market an in depth knowledge of the depth and breadth of the CBAM investment management capability at a detailed and technical level if required;

Working on a consultative investment basis with intermediaries and institutions and their underlying clients within the UK and the Channel Islands, where appropriate employing the proposition of complete wealth management;

Building a strong and trusted relationship between the CBAM investment management teams and the central business development team to attract and increase the flow of assets under management into CBAM investment management; and by

Working in partnership with and supporting the wider business development team to achieve its overall targets.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development




Articulate Close Brothers Asset Management Limited (CBAM) investment proposition to intermediaries/ institutions/consultants in the UK including the Channel Islands, requiring and demonstrating a clear and comprehensive investment understanding and knowledge.

Develop, lead and maintain the relationship of the central business development, events and marketing team with the investment management teams (in particular, but not exclusively, DMS, Bespoke and CITS.)





Develop client acquisition strategies with the investment management teams (in particular, but not exclusively, DMS, Bespoke and CITS) focusing on intermediated partnerships with external business introducers including investment consultants, trustees, legal and accounting professionals and other third parties. Have experience of cultivating similar relationships within previous roles.





Create and develop opportunities (i.e. convince external business introducers to introduce potential clients to CBAM) through a consultative relationship – demonstrating added value through association with CBAM’s investment proposition and where appropriate complete wealth management service.





Develop, oversee and drive ongoing contact strategy with key external relationships to include, but not exclusively, receipt of CBAM communications, development and attendance at events that support awareness of the brand and proposition capability.

Partner as required with other BDDs, PDs, and investment specialists to drive assets under management into CBAM investment management from the external market and CBAM internal advisers.





Work with CIO to distribute sourced RFPs equitably and appropriately.





Use the monitoring systems and controls in place to ensure ongoing, accurate and comprehensive management information for and not exclusively, the Chief Investment Officer, the investment teams, Head of Business Development and Manco.





Attend investment team monthly meetings in representation of central Business Development and to ensure ongoing communication.





Ensure CBAM investment teams are thoroughly prepared for all presentation and pitches including ( where appropriate):




pre-pitch training of presenters
meeting the RFP mandate as requested by the introducer
pitching and using documents and presentations that are clear, easy to understand and fully complied
ensuring timely and suitable follow up
adequate debrief from process to ensure sharing of lessons learnt and the development of best practice.





Work with CIO, Head of Marketing and Head of Business Development to develop and maintain suitable slides, pitch documents and collateral for promoting the CBAM investment management proposition to the external introducer market.





Hold prime responsibility in securing assets under management with intermediary relationships in support of the Head of Business Development.



General



Partner with and support other Business Development Directors in key business development initiatives as required, for example first, exploratory meetings with potential new introducers.

Participation and contribution to monthly business development meetings including sharing of key learnings and competitor knowledge.

Participation as requested by Head of Business Development in Award submissions.
