Examination invigilators are a vital part of a schools examination period and provide support to pupils and the school during the busiest periods of the year. The role of an exam invigilator is to ensure exams are conducted in accordance with school, Ofsted and exam board policies.
General invigilation involves supervising students with an examination hall whilst they are working through their papers. You will hand out additional resources and answer basic questions the students have. You will uphold strict exam conditions and report and malpractice that may occur.
You may be asked to scribe or read for pupils who have learning difficulties, low levels of English or slow processing skills. This would involve reading each question aloud to them and/or writing down their answers as they give them to you.
You must be professional at all times and follow the instructions of the head exam invigilator at all times.
We work with Secondary schools in Southampton during busy exam periods throughout the academic year to provide them with essential support. You would work with our schools on an adhoc basis. This role would be ideal for students, retired teachers or parents looking to earn additional income on a part time basis.

The ability to work well in a team
Patience throughout the exams
Ability to adhere to rules and regulations
Good level and understanding of English
Minimum requirements - previous experience working with children or young people in an education or care environment.
