Job Description

My client based in Workington are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their busy team.

Purpose of the Post:

To operate and control the business finance function in accordance with UK legislation.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Operation of finance control systems
  • Management of cashflow
  • Financial Reporting
  • Compilation of all relevant finance data
  • Assist in production of annual statutory accounts
  • Management of payroll, VAT, PAYE, NI pensions etc payments
  • Dealings with relevant government Inspectors and bodies
  • Assist in annual audit of financial accounts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Input of all purchase and sales invoices into relevant ledgers
  • Preparation and maintenance 12 week cashflow
  • Input into monitoring, reporting and analysis of project performance
  • Control of payment of salaries, invoices, expenses, statutory payments etc
  • Advise MD/Directors/General Managers on all relevant finance matters
  • Support development of new business opportunities and strategic partnerships/alliances
  • Prepare relevant working practices

Education & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant Status or qualified with experience
  • Knowledge and Experience of Finance Law
  • Knowledge and Experience of finance best practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
