The Wordsworth Hotel is a home from home, a beautifully appointed 4* hotel with a relaxed and stylish country house feel that offers a memorable mix of warm hospitality, an award winning restaurant, and facilities ideally suited to both the discerning traveller and business guest.

We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef who will be able to work alongside the Sous Chef and Head Chef in producing food of a consistently high standard, who is confident and competent in all aspects of food preparation and service and who has the passion, drive and pride to make us the best.

The Junior Sous Chef will need to have the relevant skills to look after the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence and be able to train, motivate and inspire other members of the team whenever necessary. Ideally the candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience.

Other essential requirements of the Junior Sous Chef:

  • Previous experience in a similar environment working with fresh food
  • Must adhere to food hygiene standards
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Responsible for ensuring you are wearing the correct, clean uniform at all times to ensure all food served promptly and to the highest standard within the company guidelines
  • Ambitious, self-motivated and driven
